Adventure tourism & camps

A detailed view of the activities, participants and safeguards behind the experience.

Who we can help

A closer look at your exposure.

Tour operators, outdoor guides, camps, adventure businesses and recreation organizations.

Activity level, remoteness, weather, participant age and emergency response can materially change an exposure. Overnight programs and transport need to be considered alongside the activity itself.

What to discuss with your broker

Activity & participant liability

Describe every activity, the skill level required and the participants involved.

Property & equipment

Review outdoor equipment, facilities, boats or vehicles and any property in transit.

Accident & emergency options

Discuss available participant accident options and emergency arrangements without assuming rescue costs are insured.

Management & safeguarding

Consider staff qualifications, supervision, volunteer roles and safeguarding responsibilities.

These are areas to consider, not a promise of coverage. Options, exclusions, limits and availability depend on the insurer and your circumstances.

Have a useful first conversation.

If available, have the following information ready. Your broker will tell you what is needed for a formal submission.

  • Full activity list, locations, seasons and participant ages
  • Guide qualifications, ratios, waivers and safety procedures
  • Emergency plans, transport, accommodation and equipment
  • Annual revenue, attendance and incident history

A question worth asking

Should occasional or subcontracted activities be declared?

Yes. Include activities offered only a few times a year and those delivered by another operator. Responsibility and contractual insurance requirements should be reviewed.
